The Vice-chancellor of Research and Technology of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences said that eight faculty members of this university were included in the list of 2% of the top scientists in the world.

Explaining this news, Dr. Seyed-Mohammad Omrani stated: "Prof. Mahmoud Rafieian-Kopaei", "Dr. Ali Ahmadi", "Dr. Abdollah Mohammadian-Hafshejani", "Dr. Zahra Lori Gooini", "Dr. Mohammad Heidari", "Dr. Sorayya Ghasemi", "the late Prof. Esfandiar Heidarian", and "Prof. Ali Hasanpour Dehkordi" from the faculty members of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences were introduced as the world's top scientists.

He reminded that Stanford University's list of 2% of the world's top scientists is an authoritative ranking that identifies and introduces the most influential researchers in various subject areas.

Dr. Omrani noted: In the latest update of the scientific data of this report (version 7) published by Elsevier in September 2024, more than 2,300 Iranian researchers are among the top 2% of scientists in the world.

He continued: The list of 2% of the top scientists is published in the Scopus database using the C-score index, emphasizing the citation effect and not just the number of articles.

Dr. Omrani reminded that the first part (one-year citation performance) includes influential researchers in 2023, eight of whom are faculty members from Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences.

According to Dr. Omrani, the second part (service citation performance) includes researchers who have received this privilege during their professional careers. Notably, the esteemed names of "Prof. Mahmoud Rafieian-Kopaei" and "Prof. Ali Hasanpour Dehkordi" from Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences have been included in this list, a testament to their significant contributions.
